What is Doberman? It is a type of dog with medium body size.
Yea, Doberman is a type of dog that that is always seen in domestic. It is a breed of domestic dog, famous of its intelligence, alert and loyalty.
There is a story of how its name Doberman comes from. Let me share the story with you guys.
Well, it started off at the 19th century, where there is a German tax collector named Louis Doberman. He used cross bred among German Pinschers with Rottweilers in order to produce a dog bred that can meet his needs. Thus, there come the dog bred named Doberman.
What characteristics of dog does Louis Doberman produce? I am sure that most of you know, Doberman is normally bred as a smart guard dog, watch dog or police dog. Let us continue with Louis’s story. As Louis worked as a tax collector in bandit-infested area, he travelled a lot together with his dog bred Doberman. So, the Doberman obtained popularity and this breed is developed in many other countries.
And, thus, we can see the Doberman taken as pet dog, for they have gained the recognition as loyal companionship to a family.

Dog Bowl

Was having lunch at Mid valley last weekend, and I ordered roast duck. To my surprise it was serve in a bowl. Can't help feeling that this is the bowl I used to feed my dog.

In most situations, allergies on pet can be controlled. However, attention must be highly paid if there are kids in your house. It is advisable to find a new home for your pet rather than putting your kids’ health at stake. For less severe allergies, actually there are quite some possible solution methods.

What are the symptoms showing that your pets having allergies? This can be observed from the pet’s ears, face, skin, hair and feet. Normally, the signs are that redness, bad odour, hair loss, and inflammation. At the same time, their behaviors change as well. They are more likely to scratch, rub ears or paws against furniture, bite, and chew their feet or pads.

In solving the problem,
1) First and foremost, you must keep your pet clean. This applies to any kind of animals, as keeping the pet clean and groomed, it is possibly to prevent your pet from having allergic.
2) Secondly, do research on the surroundings of your pet, such as chemicals, the shampoo and the place your pet plays around. If you came across any sources that cause irritation to your pet, please immediately avoid your pet from contacting with the source anymore.
3) Third, is the diet. Feed your pet with healthy and natural diet. Practice yourself to prepare your pet’s food on your own. In this way, you can ensure of the food that your pet consume, without the need to worry of any hidden ingredients that might harm your pet.

What does pet, the alphabet P-E-T mean to you?

Pet means the animal being kept, being tamed and being taken care of for the companionship and bringing excitement to you and your family members. Pets are kept as for accompany reason, or known as household animal; contrary to wild animals, show animals, sport animals or animals kept for other commercial purposes.
There are a few categories listed out for pets: the most well-known pet animals such as dogs and cats are usually known as “small pet animals”; horses, sheep or similar bigger size are grouped as “large animals”; birds, reptiles (tortoises, iguanas, snakes and turtles), squirrels, ferret and others similar pets are named as “exotics”.
Pets are loved by human, basically due to whatever reasons it might be: loyal yet playful characteristics, as company to boring lifestyle, beautiful feathers, cute and adorable appearance and others. Well, physically, keeping pets may help you to improve your health conditions. I personally speak on this point as you can see that for an example, an owner of pet dog will of most certainly take his/her pet dog out for jogging at least once a week; where in which some owners will spend more time on their pet dogs, to bring the dogs out for a walk every day. Walking a dog around housing area or any park will definitely provide both the pet owner and the pet dog with exercises and fresh air. These same exercises applied on pet cats and birds as well, but the only difference is that the exercises done together with pet birds or cats might not be identically the same as walking pet dogs.
As looking from the aspect of personal emotion, having pets will assist to reduce and relieve stresses. Many people adopt pets for companionship, not only those old man or ladies with boring lifestyle, yet those working adults with hectic and busy lifestyles and those happily-lived school kids will normally have pets too. YES, there is a great point hidden here! Well, while playing around with your lovely pets, owners will temporarily forget of all the problems in lives and clear their mind off from any unwanted worries. With these, they have their whole bodies release from stresses of whole day packed-with-jobs’ lives. As for those old grandpa and grandma, if they do not have any allergic to pets, then it is advisable that they might as well adopt a pet for themselves as the pet can serve as company to them and at the same time providing fun to them.

English Budgie or Normal budgie?

The parakeet - the pet bird that we used to call as budgie, of scientific name Melopsittacus undulatus, is originally from Australia. Generally, there are two groups of Budgie, one of its types is the common pet budgie known as the American budgie and another type is the exhibition or modern show budgie known as English budgie.

But, wait, since budgerigars species origin from Australia, why are there English and American budgies, you may ask in curiosity. Yes, it may seem confusing, but with little explanation here, I hope it may help you to clear the mess.

Around the year of 1800s, budgies from grasslands Australia were brought into Europe by John Gould, a well-known ornithologist. They were bred in Europe, for different purposes, different business intention and for different goals to achieved. Sooner and later, mutations occur as the budgies nowadays come with variety of bright and eye-catching colours, different sizes and behavior.

Well, what are the most obvious difference of English budgie and American budgie? The size is the answer. As the budgies are fed for different purposes, the American budgie of smaller body size is the type most commonly seen in pet shops – this budgie is of similar body size to the Australia origin budgie; while the English budgie of bigger body size is commonly found in exhibitions and modern shows. In comparison, English budgie has their feathers grow over their eyes and larger crested head than normal American budgie, due to the food fed and bred.
Like its striking colours of feather, the English budgie has strong yet easily tamed personality. What a controversy, isn’t it? English budgie should be well taken care of and should not be placed as several amounts of female budgies in together. They may “attack” each other if they cannot get along well. But, there will be no worries if a few male budgies are kept together as they can go along well without much problem. Or without much quarrel I should say.

As for American budgies, although they come with strong personality under their cutie little size of body, they are easy be handle.However, though of its big body size, the English budgie has shorter lifespan than American, due to the huge mutation of English budgie bred for exhibition and show. A healthily fed American budgie may live for 8-10 years; while English budgie may only long for 2-5 years. Breeding the English budgie with the intention of creating stunning feather’s colours for shows, those people have cruelly caused budgie mutation, thus English budgie easily get all sorts of sick and illnesses, causing their short life-span.

All the birds need toys, because most of the time your bird will be in cage while you are busy at work or away from home. A bird toy is beneficial to keep them entertained and having something to do, not just eating all the long till it leads to obesity and harmful to health! Without toys, birds will get bored easily and leads to depression or maybe a change of behavior due to a long period of being alone in cage. You need to choose the right toys for your birds, each birds have different suits and needs varying from sizes and ingredient contents. It can't be too small or too big, but only toys which your bird is comfortable with.

Other factors you need to consider is checking the label of the toys to make sure they are dyed with natural and safe ingredient such as vegetable dyes. Birds chews almost everything, so other materials such as metal could be harmful and might cause your bird to get sick or even fatal.When you purchase a toy, the way of attaching the toy to the cage is also an important part of safety. Because bird will always cling to the string while chewing or playing with the toy. Never use clips but only strings to attach the toy because a clips might fall off from the bird cage and hurt your bird resulting the fear of the toy.

10 things that you must follow when you bring your birds home

1) Once you bring you birds back keep it at quiet corner away from TV or high traffic area.

2) Find a location where your birds can see you. So that your birds will slowly get to know you and it's new enviroment.

3) For the first 3 - 4 days, just change the food/water and clean the cage. Try not to disturb it too much.

4) On the fourth day, you can handfeed your tame birds. Pour some seed on your hand and slowly put into the cage and wait for the birds to jump to your hand.

5) While your birds is eating make sure you do not make any sudden movement. If it fly away, repeat the process again. Patience is all you need.

6) If you want your birds to come out of the cage,open the birds cage and put your hand (with seeds) at the door of the cage and wait for the birds so come out. You should do this when your birds is hungry (in the morning or evening time)

7) You can just let the cage door open and your birds can come out and play at the same time have access to water and a safe place(inside the cage). Make sure you constantly monitor them while they come out and play.

8) Continue to handfeed your birds to make sure your birds remain tame.

9) Talk and sing to them and they will do the same to you.

10) Last, get them toys and good food ! Remember to rotate the foods and toys. If not your birds will get bored of it.

Husky the wolf

Let’s get back to the topic at hand…Huskies, as we said scary in some ways and also unique in others, why we say this? There are rare features that many huskies have; one would be the ability to “talk” or rather utter sounds from their vocal cords that seem to be words. Surprised? Just enter your search engine and search for videos with the keywords “talking huskies” or rather “talking dogs”. No doubt there are other dogs that do talk, however if u realize a majority of results that you get from your search are talking huskies. Fret not because these are what make a husky unique. Talking about features, how can we not include their eyes? A wide repertoire of colors brings out the “scariness” or wolf-like feature in the breed. These features are somewhat unique to a husky thus giving the breed a status and a high demand in the market. From working dogs, to being involved in sled racing and lastly as pets, no one can deny the popularity among dog lovers.

Birds?

I remembered the first time I was introduced to my friend's budgie. Excited, he extended his hand into the bird cage and the budgie hopped onto his hands. He brought the bird out and offered to let the budgie stand on my hand... I backed off!

I mean, who in the world gets associated with birds? Definitely not me. I've never come close to any birds in my entire life. Right... those birds that hunt on my garden early morning - I never got closer than 2 metres to them. With an exception of caged birds or photo-shoot birds in the zoo, I've never ever thought that we could get near a bird.

I was reluctant to take the bird. Part of me excited. Part challenged. Part questioning. And part worried. Yes, worried. Worried that I might accidentally kill the bird - it looks so fragile!

Taking some courage, I extended my hand and immediately, the bird hopped onto my palm. It feels awkward. A noob, I am - I was trying to balance the bird on my finger thinking that the bird can't balance itself. Lol... In no time, the budgie started hopping onto my shoulders and trying to explore his new found tree branch? (Yes, I feel like a tree branch to the budgie :D ) Ticklish I must say - my natural instinct almost made me squash the budgie just like how we usually 'shoo' flies away. Hehe!

I quickly asked my friend to remove the budgie. It was a short yet new experience with bird which changes my whole outlook on it. Later my friend explained that this is a tame bird, not like any other birds I see around... which explains why I could handle the budgie like how I just did. I was amazed at how 'manja' the budgie played with my friend - exactly like how kittens behave.

Amazed I was... and it was since then that I got my first tame budgie :)
